John Kaada was recently interviewed by The Seventh Hex and asked about working alongside Mike Patton. Find out what he had to say.
John Kaada, who normally goes simply by Kaada was recently interviewed about his upcoming Closing Statements and was asked about his relationship with Mike Patton.
As we know Patton and Kaada have released two albums together now, as well as a live DVD. They first released Romances in 2004 under the Kaada/Patton moniker. They then released a live DVD from the Romances tour titled Live in 2005. And most recently they released Bacteria Cult in 2016. The relationship extends beyond just working together, Kaada has also released two albums on Patton’s Ipecac Recordings – Thank You For Giving Me Your Valuable Time in 2003, and then Music for Moviebikers in 2006.
Here’s what he had to say when asked about working with Mike Patton:
How valuable has it been to work alongside such great artist and friend in Mike Patton?
Kaada: Mike is so gifted and I have learnt so much from him. Just to see how detail orientated Mike is – it’s truly fantastic.
There are no shortcuts in getting to the point where he is at now; he is a very hard worker.
It’s an honour for me to be so close to someone who has made so much amazing music, and he’s never compromised his vision.
Nothing comes for free with Mike and it doesn’t get easier for him too. I admire how he always digs into those small nitty gritty details to create something new. He really is so dedicated.
