Mike Patton Appearing on Next Neil Hamburger Album

Mike Patton will be appearing on a track on the forthcoming Neil Hamburger album to be released on January 25 2019.

Neil Hamburger, the caustic stand-up comedian, is releasing a new album titled Still Dwelling in January next year.  The album features a number of covers, including “Everything’s Alright” which sees Patton perform with Jack Black.

The album also contains covers of Paul McCartney’s “Backwards Traveller”, Heart’s “Crazy on You”, T.S.O.L.’s “The Sounds of Laughter”,
Simon & Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound”,
Sonny Curtis’ “The Straight Life”, and John Barry’s “Midnight Cowboy” (which Faith No More also covered on Angel Dust (1992)) mashed up with John Lennon’s “Isolation”.

Listen To Neil Hamburger Perform “Backwards Traveller”

This isn’t the first time Patton has covered Andrew Lloyd Webber.  Earlier in 2018 when he played a few shows with DJ Qbert they performed “Heaven on Their Minds” also from Jesus Christ Superstar.

Nor is this Neil Hamburger’s first rodeo with Mike Patton.  He’s opened for Mr. Bungle and a number of other Patton projects.  Hamburger also released an album on Patton’s Ipecac Recordings.  In 2000, Hamburger released Great Phone Calls, an album of prank phone calls.

“Everything’s Alright” as a song title could be seen as a counterpoint to Faith No More’s “Everything’s Ruined” from Angel Dust (1992), though it’s probably just a coincidence rather than being intentional.
